Gilliegrae Setters

Irish Setters & Irish Red and White Setters

Gone but never forgotten....................

Kilkerren Swift for Gilliegrae 'Flynn' 2010-2013

Flynn joined us from Ireland, such a comical lad, taken far too young, just 3 years of age when the dread 'C' took him, he is Neala's grandfather.

Flynn was never keen on being shown, I fondly remember taking him to Boston Championship Show, he rolled on his back for our Judge Roxanne McDonald to tickle his belly and instead of going round the ring on 4 legs he thought is was a good idea to go round on his belly like a sloth, at least he entertained fellow exhibitors and the public

Ir Sh Ch Gilliegrae Cineal Niamh 'Niamh' 2011-2014

Niamh like her daddy Flynn taken far too soon, closed pyometra,  at the age of 3.5 years, Neala her daughter just 14 months old.

Niamh was a mummies girl, her one desire in life was to please, she gained 8 Green Stars and 1 Challenge Certificate

Our first homegrown Irish Show Champion

Rappatty Red Velvet 'Etney' 2007-2020

Etney was such a diva, a proper lady, showing was never her thing, didn't help that at 18 months she was spooked by a judge, from that day on she made the occasional appearance other wise she was the Princess of the Sofa

Casefelice Balwen 2007-2019

Cara stood and moved like a dream outside the ring, inside she would talk and prance like 'spotty dog', ringside entertainment she did however gain a Reserve Challenge Certificate, my proudest moment!. Then at the age of 8 at Crufts, everyone's expectation was that she would 'play up'..........she glided round the ring like a pro and got a 5th, I thought I'd got best in show
